Culture Cafe moves to Belmont Filmhouse during Music Hall Transformation
 

Pop in to Belmont Filmhouse during your lunch hour, take a break from shopping or meet up with some friends for a relaxing hour of writers’ talks, programmed and chaired by Alan Spence, Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Aberdeen.

All events start at 1.30pm, with soup and sandwich available from the Belmont Fimhouse cafe. Tickets are £8 inc. bf and meal deal tickets are £12 inc. bf for soup and sandwich (veggie options available)

Val McDermid is a genuine megastar in the firmament of crime writing. Her novels have been translated into 30 languages and sold over 10 million copies worldwide. Her work was adapted for the highly successful television drama Wire in the Blood, starring Robson Green.

Val comes from Kirkcaldy and read English at St Hilda’s College, Oxford. Among her many awards are the Portico Prize for Fiction, the LA Times Book Prize and the Cartier Diamond Dagger. She has published 27 novels, the most recent being Splinter the Silence. She has also published short stories, non-fiction and children’s books. She is a regular broadcaster on BBC radio.
