The Queen Elizabeth Theatre, The International School Aberdeen
Sibelius once described his music as “pure, cold water”, in contrast to the “manufactured cocktails”that other composers produced. His glorious music is loved around the world, giving an entire nation its identity. In this concert marking the composer’s 150th anniversary, ACO plays two of Sibelius’s most treasured works alongside music by two other Scandinavian composers - Grieg and Svendsen.
Sibelius: Finlandia & Symphony no.2
Svendsen: Romance (solo violin: Jean Fletcher)
Grieg: Norwegian Dances
