ANCHOROCK is a charity event brought to you by Jamco Events.

The purpose of the event is to raise money, encourage donations, and raise awareness of local charity, Friends of ANCHOR.

Friends of ANCHOR is a registered charity, formed in 1997, to raise money on behalf of the ANCHOR unit whose support area extends throughout the north east of Scotland including Orkney and Shetland.

The Aberdeen and North Centre for Haematology, Oncology and Radiotherapy (ANCHOR) unit is a fully funded NHS department at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary that brings together experts and specialist nursing support to coordinate care of patients with all forms of cancer, leukaemia and benign blood disorders such as haemophilia.

The event itself will include live music from the following rising stars... Fat Hippy Rockers ‘The Ruckus’, Indie Legends ‘Marionettes’, Fyvie Live competition winners ‘Cats In Capes’, pop-rock band ‘Audiokicks’, Northern Pioneers rapper ‘FA’, talented singer songwriter ‘Oliver Richards’, and local DJ Scott Anderson aka. 'HomeAlone'.

All money raised will go directly to the Friends of ANCHOR charity and will contribute to a number of things.

Ticket sales and donations fund the purchase of non-NHS provided equipment for Aberdeen Royal Infirmary's ANCHOR unit. They also fund additional care, comfort and support for patients attending the ANCHOR unit, and they also fund vital ground breaking research projects at the University of Aberdeen's Institute of Medical Science at Foresterhill, Aberdeen.
