The 8th Annual Pipe Band Concert with Police Scotland, Fife and Bucksburn & District Pipe Bands

The 14th April 2018, concert named “Decade on the Beat” in Aberdeen, Scotland will mark the first major concert for guest top Grade 1 Pipe Band Police Scotland Fife under the leadership of Pipe-Major Dougie Murray and Lead Drummer, Mick O'Neill. Established in September 2007 Fife pipe band have grown in strength over the past 10 years. In 2016 the band enjoyed its best season to date. Their hard work started to pay off with a top 6 prize at the Scottish Championships and the band broke into the Top 6 in Grade 1 at the World Championships for the first time. After receiving a 6th place at the worlds, the band are currently the best police pipe band in the world.

Bucksburn band President Gus McAskill said "The 2018 concert will once again take place at the Aberdeen Beach Ballroom. "The sound and facilities are amazing," McAskill added. "There isn't a restricted seat view or bad sound anywhere in the ballroom. It's a spectacular venue for a pipe band concert. Bucksburn are excited to have Dougie, Mick and the band in Aberdeen for their 8th concert, a venture that started as a one-off event back in 2010. I see the concert as a huge indoor pipe band gathering where pipers, drummers, family, friends and supporters gather for the start of a new season where old and new stories are shared, new friendships made and old friendships reignited.

Both bands will play a mix of traditional and contemporary music that I’m sure will keep the audience entertained throughout the night.

Bucksburn member’s young and old look forward to playing alongside Fife and I’m sure the experience will be held within their hearts for a very long time to come.

Bucksburn continues to aim for the prize list in 2018. We re-entered the Top 6 prize list in 2017 at the Scottish Championships with a 6th place and qualified for the worlds final for the first time in the bands history.

Once again, we look forward to another amazing pipe band event in the heart of the city where
