Starring international mezzo soprano Nadia Stoianova whose portrayals of Carmen have won rapturous reviews.

Produced and directed by Ellen Kent, this dazzling new production is traditionally staged and features international soloists and the full Chisinau National Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus.

Set in Seville and reflecting a Goya painting, with fountains, flowers, orange trees and a rescue donkey, Carmen guarantees an evening of passion and romance, and features some of the most evocative and best-loved melodies in opera; The Habanera, The Seguidilla, The Flower Song, The Chanson Bohème and perhaps the bestknown baritone aria of all The Toreador’s Song.

Sung in French with English surtitles.

“A star was born” (Nadejda Stoianova) – Manchester Evening News, Carmen
