The World's No1 Eric Clapton Tribute Band will bemaking a welcome return to Aberdeen Arts Centre Theatre on Saturday 23 November. This time the Arts Centre is celebrating it’s 50th Anniversary and it will also be 10 years since CLASSIC CLAPTON first appeared at the venue!
CLASSIC CLAPTON features front-man Mike Hall who not only looks like Eric, he sings and plays guitar like him too! They were formed in 1985 in Newcastle upon Tyne long before the term “tribute band” was invented. In the past 28 years they have become something of a rock institution.
The band comprises 4 excellent musicianswho stunningly recreate Slowhand's electrifying stage performances. The whole of EC's illustrious career is covered includingCream, The Bluesbreakers, The Yardbirds, Blind Faith, Derek & The Dominos and the solo years.
CLASSIC CLAPTON have toured throughout the UK and Europe including numerous sell-out shows. They have performed at The Royal Festival Hall and Glastonbury Festival where they were a major success. In the past few years they have performed numerous concerts in Europe including Spain, Estonia and Holland. In July 2009 they even appeared in Mumbai.
This will be their fifth visit to Aberdeen. Their previous concerts at The Arts Centre were very popular – virtually sold out. Fans are therefore advised to book early for their next appearance.
The show is a 2-hour journey through the music of Eric Clapton including all of his hits -Wonderful Tonight, I Shot The Sheriff, Lay Down Sally, Crossroads, Tears in Heaven, Layla and even an Unplugged segment.
