It was good fun and the typical tongue twister was very well done and funny. The costumes were superb and the attention to detail on them was incredible. The only down side was the noise. It was difficult to make out the words to the songs. The orchestra is great, but the words of the songs need to be heard over the orchestra. The sound system needs a bit of a tweak to make the words easier to hear. We were in the 2nd row.

What a shame. My family has gone to the panto at HMT every year since 1998 and have generally enjoyed them very much. This year none of us could hear the words to the songs or anything King Rat said because of the music. It was FAR TOO LOUD. We heard nothing from the baddie as there was creepy music played while he spoke. We heard almost nothing of the parody songs as again the orchestra covered up the words, which is a pity because someone worked very very hard to make them funny. I heard, "Fit like? It's masel'" and that was all from "Adele". Then in another song, I heard "...bricked up" and "Dundee". Even in the slapstick song it took some time before the "tiddler from the deep blue sea" was heard. We were in the Dress Circle and paid £30.50 each for 15 tickets and were at sea ourselves for a lot of the time. The orchestra spoiled it for us. What a shame. Do we go to Aladdin? Maybe not.

We have been going to the pantos at HMT for many years, Elaine C Smith worked especially hard this year to bring life to a poor script. Jordan Young and Alan McHugh did their best, but basically, the show was not one of the best. (probably the worst). The script was smutty and the music was too loud, the flashing lights were irritating. We took our grand daughter to 'Peter Pan' last year- and it was excellent, but we're glad we didn't take her to this. It was much more suited to an adult audience. However, we have booked again for 2017 and hope for the best.

My daughter and I went to the show on 18th December and had a fun filled couple of hours Familiar cast but fresh and current material. Wonderful slap stick and the set and costumes where second to done Audience participation was great and I think I was the noisiest scurry in the house!!!! Can't wait for next year

Our family went on our annual panto visit on evening of 11 December. We have been doing this for about 10 years and from 70 year olds to young teens we all love it. It has to be said that the 3 main characters of Elaine C Smith, Alan McHugh and Jordan Young are absolutely great. They have worked in the HMT theatre for so many years that they obviously know one another really well and their timing and delivery are first class. Every year they manage to bring something new which keeps it feeling fresh. If you haven't been to the Panto for a long time, go. You will not be disappointed, and will have a really fun night with lots of laughter. Already booked for next year.

Went to the show on 13/12/16 with my daughter for her birthday and it was absolutely brilliant as always. Elaine C Smith, Jordan young and Alan McHugh are fantastic and the pantomimes wouldn't be the same if they weren't in them

No real story. All about Elaine C Smith as thought it was her show! Disappointing and music very loud and annoying lights hitting you in the audience and blinding you.
