Dr Hook™ is a name in pop music that evokes different things for different people.
Some immediately think of Dr Hook as the group that gave them so many poignant, heartfelt songs as a soundtrack to their romantic journey through life, while others will remember 'Hook' as a band that was willing to provide a cheeky smile or irreverent belly laugh and a 'two fingers up' to the conformities and injustices of day to day living.
Dr Hook were on the international charts, whether it was in the pop, rock or country categories, for the fifteen years the band was together and continue to top the charts today with releases such as the latest double disc set, Timeless from Universal Music.
This brings us to Dennis Locorriere, founding member and distinctive lead vocalist of Dr Hook. Dennis was asked by Universal Music to put together the Timeless album which he did by selecting and sequencing 40 tracks from Dr Hook's extensive catalogue, as well as writing the liner notes for the booklet.
Locorriere was the face of the release, undertaking a full press schedule of TV and radio appearances in the UK and mounting very successful concert tours with his band in New Zealand and Australia in 2015 neatly coinciding with the Timeless release.
All three territories were rewarded with top chart positions for the album. Locorriere is the voice of such classics as Sylvia's Mother, Only 16, A Little Bit More, If Not You, Sharing The Night Together, Sexy Eyes, When You're In Love With A Beautiful Woman, Years From Now and so many more.
After years out of the limelight, Dr Hook™ is now back on the road, fronted by Dennis Locorriere, the man who originally sang all the songs you remember and still love, presented in an evening of not only great music, but one that also brings to audiences all the fun and humour that was synonymous with the name Dr Hook.
