Dinner Jazz & Soul with Eileen Hunter, Steve Brookstein & Luca Boscagin

22nd Aug 6pm

In association with and support of Alzheimer Scotland, Aberdeen

Aberdeen born Jazz singer, Eileen Hunter lives in South London with her husband and two children. She is back performing and writing after a 3 year hiatus to have her second child.

Eileen is a well respected musician who is a regular at London's iconic 606 Jazz Club and has performed at many wonderful venues over the years including The Hippodrome, Pizza Express Soho, Boisdale, The Stables, Regents Park Open Air Theatre followed by a UK tour, Queen Elizabeth Hall (as vocalist with The Phoenix Dance Company), soloist at The Savoy for the Centenary Celebration of Noel Coward, and has been lucky enough to perform twice at The Royal Albert Hall. She appeared in concert as a soloist with the Bayerischer Rundfunk Orchestra and jazz band in Munich for a live radio broadcast and has appeared twice in the Aberdeen Jazz Festival. Before leaving Aberdeen she enjoyed appearing in many great shows at His Majesty's Theatre with the Lyric Theatre Company and of course not forgetting the Inverurie Panto!

Originally from Aberdeen Eileen was brought up in a musical family. Her grandfather Charlie had been a fiddle player and her father Alastair was a well known and highly accomplished accordion player. She joined her dad's dance band at the age of 18 and got the chance to do many recordings and radio broadcasts and to travel far and wide from Rio de Janeiro to Holland and Istanbul to Zambia. Her brother Russell is a pianist and fiddler and performs regularly as a trio with their show Para Handy: A Highland Voyage. Catch it if you can!

Eileen's first album was signed to Jazz FM's record label in 2009 and she is currently writing and arranging for her second one.
