Suburban Saints: 8.30pm-9pm | Nicky Aiken: 9.15pm-9.45pm | Hazey Janes: 10pm-11pm
Friday 20th June sees a one off special collaboration event between The Lemon Tree and BrewDog to present the BrewDog AGM Pre-Party at the Lemon Tree in Aberdeen. On the entertainment side we have great live music from Scottish Indie poppers The Hazey Janes plus local support from Suburban Saints & Nicky Aiken.
Following the bands the night will be finished with an eclectic mix of vintage rock, soul and funk with a DJ set from Retrospectre.
BrewDog will be taking over our bar to provide a wide array of their finest beers and for the first time at the Lemon Tree Brewdog Beer will be available on draught. As well as the well known Punk IPA, Dead Pony Club and 5AM Saint beers there will be some special one off limited BrewDog brews available at the event also.
It’s safe to say The Hazey Janes have undergone their fair share of globetrotting in their ten years together, all the while refining their zig-zag path from country to psych to power-pop.
Since 2011’s The Winter That Was, the group’s third album, the quartet have undertaken some of their most rigorous and prestigious tours to date, opening as guests for Wilco on the European leg of their world tour and, more recently, Deacon Blue - the latter culminating with a sold out performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
Inspired and rejuvenated by their time in Spain, where their dates with Wilco concluded, the band ensconced themselves in the country’s South-west to record fourth album, Language of Faint Theory, returning to El Puerto De Santa Maria to collaborate with Paco Loco (The Posies, The Sadies, Josh Rouse) and John Agnello (Kurt Vile, Sonic Youth, The Hold Steady), the team that produced and mixed their debut, 2006’s critically lauded Hotel Radio. It promises to be The Hazey Janes' most striking and assured collection of songs to date.
Language of Faint Theory is available on CD, Vinyl and Download from Monday 2nd June 2014 on Armellodie Records.
BrewDog Shareholders can gain entry for £3 and are allowed a plus 1 (also £3).
