Grooveyard is a new project for 2013 by Scottish Jazz Award winner Malcolm MacFarlane
The guitarist put this new group together to explore the music that led to the 'Acid Jazz' genre.
Compositions by the likes of Grant Green, Stanley Turrentine and others are used as a springboard for improvisation and interaction with his hand-picked band of Blue Lamp favourite, Gordon McNeil on tenor saxophone, BBC Young Jazz Musician of 2012, Pete Johnstone on organ and his long term musical collaborator from a previous group, USB, Paul Mills on drums.
'depression-busting stuff ,able to lift even the heaviest of spirits with life affirming music and spontaneously inventive soloing'(Rob Adams, The Herald),
