Interpreting the Gaelic Landscape (Ainmean-àite na Gàidhealtachd)

Can you pronounce and understand the Gaelic place names that cover vast areas of Scotland? Join renowned journalist, Ruairidh Maclean, as he interprates the landscape, transcending the Gaelic and English language. In this workshop (designed for non Gaelic-speakers) he shall explore some of the major naming elements in the Highlands, including upland parts of the North-East. Bring along a map if you wish.

A bheil tuigse agaibh air na h-ainmean-àite Gàidhlig a tha a’ còmhdachadh earrann mhòr de dh’Alba? Thigibh is ionnsaichibh còmhla ris an neach-naidheachd ainmeil, Ruairidh MacIlleathain, fad’s a mhìnicheas e na h-ainmean-àite, a’ dol thairis air a’ Ghàidhlig is a’ Bheurla. Bidh sinn a’ toirt sùil air cuid de na prìomh eileamaidean ann an ainmean-àite na Gàidhealtachd, a’ gabhail a-steach an Ear-thuath. Tha e dealbhte airson daoine gun Gàidhlig. Thoiribh mapa leibh ma thogras sibh.
