Late Night at The Lemon Tree: Miaoux Miaoux, Tuff Love & Bruising

Following a sold out debut event in March with Broken Records and Kathryn Joseph, The Lemon Tree continues its Late Night At The Lemon Tree series with the following fantastic line up…

Miaoux Miaoux

Electro pop is a well worn concept, with the entire routine sometimes feeling flat and jaded. 'Flat' and 'jaded' though, are twin accusations which could never be launched at Miaoux Miaoux. A producer, arranger, remixer and all round electronic polymath, the Glasgow artist secured a SAY Award nomination with his 2012 album 'Light Of The North'. Well, now he's back. Recently remixing CHVRCHES and - somewhat unexpectedly - Belle & Sebastian, the producer is returning resurgent, renewed and re-invigorated. New album 'School Of Velocity' arrives in June, expect to hear a preview of it at this show!

Tuff Love

Tuff Love are Julie Eisenstein (guitar, vocals) and Suse Bear (bass, vocals), two close-knit pals living in Glasgow, Scotland - creators of hyper-infectious, fuzzed-up, lo-fi pop music that the city is so famous for.  Writing together in Suse’s bedroom, and recording everything by themselves, their musical partnership has produced a flurry of addictive, perfectly formed songs - tied together by heart-wrenching harmonies, swoon-inducing lyrics, and sun-soaked dreamy melodies.

Bruising

Bruising formed late last year after singer and guitarist Naomi Baguley spotted Ben Lewis wearing a Perfect Pussy t-shirt in a Leeds nightclub. Bonding over a mutual love of all things fuzzy, they began messaging voice memos from their phones back and forth until, finally, they got together in the same room and started writing some songs. Since then their infectious, ear worm, fuzz pop has gained them acclaim from the NME, DIY and even Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, as well as being described by GoldFlakePaint as ’The best new guitar band in the country'. With releases on hot tape label Beach Coma and the acclaimed Art Is Hard Records coming in the next few months, 2015 is set to be very exciting for Bruising.

"There’s no need for rose-tinted specs because Bruising actually make the world seem like a really great place, rather than just an illusion." GoldFlakePaint.co.uk

"Their latest track "Can’t You Feel" is testament to the power of going to a nightclub, spotting a complete stranger in a shirt and being so impressed that you decide to form a band immediately" Pitchfork.com
