A pop culture host and editor at The Washington Post, Hannah Jewell came to prominence as a senior writer at BuzzFeed UK, known for writing about gender with wit and humor and her satire of British and American politics. Born in the UK, she grew up in California and studied Middle East politics and international relations at Berkeley and Cambridge. Now, she combines her background in history and politics with her love of the internet to write about remarkable women of the past with an accessible, hilarious, and sometimes sweary style. ‘100 Nasty Women of History: Brilliant, Badass and Completely Fearless Women Everyone Should Know’, ‘Laugh-out -loud funny and inspiring’ – was published in November 2017 (Hodder & Stoughton), and her paperback, ‘She Caused a Riot: 100 Unknown Women Who Built Cities, Sparked Revolutions & Massively Crushed It’ will be released in 2018.
