It’s not a new insight – but it’s been forgotten during the time of seemingly cheap fossil fuel resources – the best way to save energy is to avoid using it in the first place. This is the simple premise at the heart of the Passive House building design concept. Popularised in the UK by TV shows but used across Europe for decades, the University’s own new Nursery is the first Passive House build in the sector. Meet the founder of the concept, Professor Wolfgang Feist and hear his take on how buildings can be part of a sustainable future for all. A reception will follow after the event in the James Mackay Hall.    Supported as part of the Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design 2016
