May Festival The Law in Aberdeen 500 years ago

Aberdeen’s UNESCO recognised Burgh Records – records of governing and day to day life in Aberdeen in the Medieval period and beyond – are currently being digitised and transcribed in an exciting project to make these unique records accessible and to help preserve them for future generations.  This ground-breaking project is the first of its kind in Scotland and is an exciting collaboration between town and gown.  The talk will explore and discuss the significance of the project, the process and the records.
