University of Aberdeen Opera Society presents Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro

Continuing on from the events of "The Barber of Seville", the Count married his Rosina now the Countess. Their servants, Figaro and Susanna, are desperately trying to get married but many obstacles stand in their way. Mainly the Count who has taken a fancy to Susanna and will do everything in his power to ruin their day. In Mozart's first collaboration with Lorenzo da Ponte, madness ensues as one couple try to make it down the aisle.
This year's production of Mozart's 'Le Nozze Di Figaro' is under the musical leadership and direction of John Frederick Hudson. The Opera Society is a student run society that is open to all students and alumni. The society is focused on providing an opportunity for students to produce and perform opera. Since its formation the society the society had performed many successful operas including 'Dido and Aeneas', 'The Magic Flute', 'Carmen', 'Eugene Onegin' and most recently Janacek's 'The Cunning Little Vixen'. The society enjoys taking part in several social events throughout the year as well as producing high quality opera.
