The Pillowman is a stomach churning and wildly comic, intense thriller about a writer in a totalitarian state who is interrogated about the gruesome content of his short stories and their similarities to a number of child-murders that are happening in his town.

Winner of the 2004 Olivier Award for Best Play and two Tony Awards, Martin McDonagh’s The Pillowman is a viciously funny and seriously disturbing tale. Celebrating the raw, vital human instinct to invent fantasies, to lie for sport, to con for one’s own end. This is as dark a comedy as it is possible to find.

The Pillowman will be directed by Derek Anderson who recently brought Cabaret to ACT Aberdeen and produced in association with Castlegate Arts.

“Comedies don’t come any blacker than The Pillowman. A spellbinding stunner of a play” New York Times

There was never a dry moment! The set was great, the acting was awesome, the storytelling was captivating and I've never laughed so much at show. I've never felt so bad or guilty about laughing too. It's a must see show!
