Its reigning men at HMT with Priscilla Queen of the Desert; the colourful, flamboyant, funny but utimately touching story of three Aussie drag queens on a roadtrip of discovery across the outback. Shake Your Groove Thing and get to HMT before you miss the bus!

The show is packed full of songs that you will know so you are singing along right from the start. It was genuine laugh out loud funny, the cast were superb (and extremely hot!) a feel good jukebox musical that will have you dancing in the aisles.

Over the years I’ve been to many shows but within the first 10 minutes I knew this had the potential to be the best ever and I wasn’t wrong! So many great moments that had you gasping with shock then crying with laughter. My face hurt with smiling so much. It’s also the first time I’ve ever been in a theatre and seen a full standing ovation at the end with everyone cheering and swaying/ dancing to the music – and that was at a matinee! I cannot recommend this show enough. ‘A real tonic’ as my Granny would have said. I would challenge anyone not to go and come out feeling on top of the world.

We were there on the opening night and thought Priscilla, Queen of the Desert was fantastic - a truly spectacular show indeed! What incredibly talented performers they are, including the band. The music was sensational - prompting immediate audience participation virtually from the first note, as all the hits featured were chart favourites. The costumes were simply incredible, and all the cast had SO many changes! How they even get into these massive outfits like the incredible paint brushes and the divine cupcakes is beyond me. The wardrobe must take up a massive amount of backstage space! There simply must be one, two - or even three -dressers for every cast member. The audience really were taken along on the crazy adventure the three main characters were having, and felt part of every move they made, whether it be a sad moment or an uplifting moment. This show is a truly amazing spectacle from start to finish, and it was no wonder the standing ovation was almost certainly the longest I've ever been part of at HMT.
