Project Band students showcase headlined by The 101
Project Band is a course unlike any other. After months of workshops and developing pratical their music skills, our Project Band students present a showcase gig live at The Lemon Tree, headlined by The 101.
The 101 are a five piece indie-rock/indie-pop band from the heart of the North East of Scotland. Since forming in August of 2015, the band has made a considerable local name for themselves gaining a strong following in the Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire area. This has led to growing popularity through live shows in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee and Inverness.
The band of Dexter Fawcett, Ross Buchan, Matthew Read, Cameron Stephen and Nick Cameron have grown as a band over the last year leading them to share the stage with acts such as Fatherson, Fickle Friends, The Little Kicks, Mo Kenny and Best Girl Athlete. As well as this, in April of 2017, The 101 sold out Aberdeen's most prestigious live music venues, The Lemon Tree (300 capacity).
The band were also funded to record a debut self-titled EP in one of the most highly regarded recording studios in Scotland, ToyTown Recording Studios. Their debut single 'Not You But Me', was released on April 4th 2017 and gained massive popularity worldwide with over 20,000 streams in it's first few days prior to release, with the follow up EP selling over 300 copies on iTunes in it's first few days after release. The band has featured on BBC introducing and has had radio play on the likes of BBC Scotland, 'Amazing Radio' and 'SHMU FM'.
