Rough Mix is an exciting creative lab for artists from all disciplines from across Scotland. A group of six talented artists are heading to The Lemon Tree for two weeks in July to play with ideas, thrash out inspirations, share their passions and challenge their ideas. Join us for a free performance and the culmination of Rough Mix’s creative residency at The Lemon Tree, to discover the artists’ ideas and process, and be entertained by their work in progress.
This event is for artists and creatives of all disciplines, as well as those interested in how ideas take shape, work is created and passions are transformed into performance.
Magnetic North have run Rough Mix residencies across Scotland. This is the first Rough Mix to be hosted in the north east, and Aberdeen Performing Arts is delighted to be working in partnership with Magnetic North to support artists from the region and beyond. Join us on Friday 15 July at 6pm at The Lemon Tree to experience the results of their creative exploration. #MNroughmix
We welcome audience members who are Deaf or hearing impaired to join us for Magnetic North’s sharing of work developed at Rough Mix. In the first half of the work in progress performance, Aminder Virdee’s piece will be BSL interpreted, and the other pieces presented by composer Matthew Whiteside and film maker and writer Marisa Zanotti contain a strong visual element. The pieces presented in the second half are more text-led, without BSL interpretation, but Deaf and hearing impaired audience members are of course most welcome to remain for the second half.
