Aberdeen Performing Arts presents Scratch Nights

Read the Northern Lights online programme now

Following on from the success of Freshly Squeezed Theatre in January, The Lemon Tree has created a programme of Scratch Nights. On these evenings we’ll present a showcase of work from playwrights based in the North East and beyond, all responding to the theme of the night. Join us to hear what the writers have to say, and take part in the discussion afterwards to have yours.

Who or what is your Northern Light? Is it a person, a place, an idea, a dream or the brightest star in the sky? 2015 is the International Year of Light. Join us on the shortest night of the year to witness an array of Northern Lights and hear the stories they have to tell.

This Scratch Night will kick off with Makeshift Broadcast introducing Bright Sky Park. Makeshift Broadcast create theatre with a strong environmental ethos that engages and empowers audiences in political and scientific conversation through storytelling and performance. Bright Sky Park is a night time exploration of our skies and public spaces. It combines stories of ordinary people with historical mythology and modern science. Tonight they invite you to look up at the sky and share your stories of the stars. @mkshftbrdcst
