Vox/Nu-piping #2’

The Lemon Tree

The ambitious festival of new and experimental music is back for its 10th year in Scotland. We invite you to come and celebrate with us!

Nominated for a prestigious RPS award in 2013, this year’s programme features an exciting international line up, highlights of which include a collaboration between Orchestre d’Auvergne (France) and Red Note Ensemble (Scotland), as well as late night concerts, workshops and events aimed at families.

Within its programme sound will also be exploring new approaches to traditional music from Scotland and further afield, with new ways of writing for traditional instruments and new collaborative works. These will include a commission from folk musician/composer Alasdair Roberts and electro-acoustic composer Ross Whyte following a residency in the Cairngorm National Park.

Other highlights will include a commission from Norwegian composer Rolf Wallin premièred by percussionist Colin Currie and Kathy Hinde’s new sonic installation Tipping Point.

Sound will be releasing full programme details very soon so check back on the website for more info!
