During WWII Truk Lagoon was the heavily fortified and secret Japanese naval & air base in the Pacific. During the war 50 large freighters filled with valuable war cargoes were sitting ducks and one by one were sunk. The war moved on and the Japanese shipwrecks were forgotten about until 1969 when Jacques Cousteau led an expedition there and rediscovered the first of them - the others have been rediscovered since. The shipwrecks lay unsalvaged and so Truk has become the most famous wreck diving site in the world. Join local shipwreck author and technical diver Rod Macdonald of Stonehaven as he discusses the "Shipwrecks of the Truk Lagoon."
