Dr Alexandra Johnstone from the Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health, University of Aberdeen is a Senior Research Fellow and Registered Nutritionist who will talk about some of the myths and magic surrounding chocolate as an aphrodisiac and explore some of the research surrounding nutrition benefits.
Professor Phyo Myint of the University of Aberdeen’s School of Medicine and Dentistry has led research into the health benefits of eating chocolate. Join us as he explains the theory behind his research and why eating chocolate is thought to lower the risk of cardio-vascular disease. Award winning chocolatier Jamie Hutcheon, will be attending this years TechFest to discuss the nutrition and benefits of chocolate. Jamie will also be demonstrating the art of chocolate making, and not only will you learn how the chocolate products are made but you will be able to taste the different flavours made on the day.
