M2R: Made to Resonate. Vibrations, Visuals and a Bass Clarinet.

Colin Riley

Suttie Arts Space, Foresterhill, AB25 2ZN

M2R (Made to Resonate) is a project about sound. Composer Colin Riley and Sound Technologist Carl Faia are working with international bass clarinetist Gareth Davis to create a multi-sensory work exploring sound and vibrations. These performances will be a sharing of their work so far allowing audiences to feedback on what they have experienced. The work be a piece of music, an art installation and an educational experience all in one. It is music that is felt and seen as much as it is heard; a colourful spectacle of thought-provoking ideas. Colin has been exploring the experiences of those with profound and partial deafness and their engagement with sound. The resulting music is something that will make us think about how we listen and most importantly be something that all listeners can engage with together. Each presentation will include a short explanation of the music, a performance, a short interactive talk about sound itself, a second playing of the piece, and then a chance to ask questions.

Total duration 60 minutes.
