The original party band, The LaFontaines had a belter of a year in 2014. Following on from their debut single release (‘All She Knows’*) via LAB Records, the band played their first headline shows in New York in April, supported All Time Low in Glasgow (2500 capacity) and released their second single, ‘Under The Storm’: to widespread airplay (Radio 1, Kerrang!, XFM Scotland, TeamRock Radio plus a plethora of UK Regional Stations) and UK wide press coverage. **
2014 also saw the band complete a tour with Boston’s Bad Rabbits playing to capacity crowds across the UK plus they’ve supported US duo Aer in London and performed to a capacity tent of 2500 at this year’s T in the Park festival as well as appearing at selected other festivals across the UK.
Later In the year saw them complete a UK and Europe tour support with Watsky which will meant the band took ‘Fontmania’ further afield, culminating in their largest headline show to date at Glasgow’s O2 ABC on 31st October (1300 capacity).
The LaFontaines are no strangers to chaos and controversy. With video budgets gambled away at casinos, Notorious B.I.G influenced re-workings of Biffy Clyro tunes and shows featuring unexpected appearances from strippers, they are a band possessed with a joie de vivre that spills over into their music. A righteous collision of hip-hop, rock and all-out party vibes…
Over the course of their career so far, the band has also supported the likes of Twin Atlantic, 3OH!3, The Blackout, NDubz, All Time Low and Example plus many more.
*‘All She Knows’: On the iTunes alternative chart plus earned the band Rocksound audio premier, placement on Vevo frontpage and double page feature in Scotland’s largest selling tabloid – The Sunday Mail
