James Toseland began taking piano lessons at the age of eight years old -- taught by a professional pianist; and he also started riding motocross bikes on the coal slag heaps close to his home. He would go on to become two-time World Superbike Champion.
Throughout his career as a motorcycle racer, music has been central to James’ life – so when forced to retire due to an injury a journey into music came very natural. His full-time music career began by collaborating with Little Angels legend Toby Jepson to write an album packed with hard/classic rock and power ballads. He’s used the grit, determination and will to succeed that made him a double World Superbike Champion to focus on pursuing his first passion in life: music.
Toseland- featuring James Toseland (vocals), Zurab Melua (Guitar), Ed Bramford (Guitar), Roger Davis (bass) and Joe Yoshida (drums), are thrilled for the upcoming release of their sophomore effort, Cradle The Rage, this spring, , the eleven song opus follows the group’s powerful 2015 debut, Renegade, which has since gone on to sell well over 10,000 copies in the UK alone while also making the A-list on Planet Rock and Team Rock radio outlets -- proving this is a band who know how to rock a melody.
Being invited to play Download Festival, as well as being the opening act for The Darkness and Little Angels provided an incredible kick start to the band's career. UK headline tours followed, along with special guest slots with Status Quo and Reef, Calling Festival with Aerosmith and various appearances in Europe.
