Aberdeen Performing Arts presents True North – Aberdeen’s festival of music and song – will take place in venues around the city from Thursday 22 - Sunday 25 September. The festival is inspired by the fantastic heritage of singer-songwriters in the North-east, and features a line-up of iconic musicians and emerging talent.

Running Up That Hill - A Celebration of the work of Kate Bush Curated by Emma Pollock

Arguably one of the most influential songwriters of her time, Kate Bush has often eluded fans, touring and performing live shows intermittently – or not at all. This specially curated concert will be a rare chance to hear her songs in a live capacity, performed in an intimate, relaxed environment. The event will celebrate all things Kate Bush with a host of songwriting talent backed by a full house band and string quartet.

Curated and led by Scottish singer-songwriter Emma Pollock, formerly of The Delgados and now a respected solo artist, the evening will be informal and spontaneous, with an element of storytelling as the audience hear what Kate Bush and her music means to the artists involved.

With Emma guiding the concert, she will be joined by an impressive array of first-rate acts from a diverse background, from upcoming and emerging artists to traditional folk singers. Artists Karthryn Joseph, Karine Polwart, Rachel Sermanni, Roddy Hart, Bdy_Prts, James Graham (Twilight Sad), Sarah Hayes (Admiral Fallow), Peter Brewis (Field Music) and Kathryn Williams will all perform their own personal favourites to honour Kate Bush’s genius.

Bring along your dancing shoes and your favourite Kate Bush memories for a spectacular performance of some of the greatest musical moments in Kate’s career, performed by artists she has inspired and influenced over the years.
