VATA exploded onto the blues rock scene in 2009 and 2 years later saw the release of their debut album "The Radium", gaining 5 star reviews. Now promoting their 2nd studio release , "Army of Three", this is their first visit to the Granite City since supporting Michael Schenker at the Lemon Tree in April 2013.
Originally born in South Africa, Virgil McMahon has been playing guitar since an early age and is joined by his brother Gabriel on drums and Jack Timmis on bass. Together they form one of the most powerhouse rock trios in the UK. Numerous tours have seen them supporting Michael Schenker, Uriah Heep and Wilko Johnson. They are now touring in their own right to promote their “Army of Three” album which was produced by Chris Tsangarides who has produced albums by Gary Moore, Thin Lizzy, Black Sabbath and Judas Priest.
