Following on from our Senior and Junior groups, AYMT Intermediates are thoroughly delighted to be performing this inspiring musical “Whistle Down the Wind” in the fantastic setting of the Tivoli Theatre.
Set in the 1950’s, Swallow, a 15 year old girl, discovers a mysterious man hiding in a barn. When she asks him his name, he blurts out “Jesus”, and she takes him for his word. Swallow and the other town’s children vow to protect the stranger unaware that the townsfolk are hunting down a fugitive who is hiding in the vicinity. This emotive score combines childhood innocence with adult cynicism through such musical numbers as “A Kiss is a Terrible Thing To Waste, “The Nature of the Beast” and the no. 1 hit “No Matter What”.

Apart from some small technical issues, through no fault of the cast, the performance was a stellar watch. All actors portrayed their characters to the utmost highest standard, with special mentions going to Amos, Candy and Swallow. The set and sound design was incredibly impressive. Scene transitions were very well executed and costume design was fantastic. A massive recommendation from myself and a huge congratulations to this young cast.
