Saturday 13 February, 10am - 12 noon
As the Music Hall prepares to close in May 2016 in preparation for its Transformation, we’re busy collecting, researching and preparing to celebrate the history and heritage of the building, which is just as much about stories and memories as it is facts and dates.
Some of the stories gathered will form part of a live performance at the Music Hall over the closing weekend. This could be your chance to step on stage and into the spotlight and tell your story live. All those chosen will be coached by a Director and looked after throughout the process and performance.
Other stories could develop into live interpretation and creative learning opportunities as well as other performances or commissions. In turn we will place the stories gathered against the wider history of the building, its place on Union Street and within Aberdeen as well as the wider North East.
A number of drop in sessions are being held in the Music Hall café on the following dates and times. During which anyone can pop in for a coffee and a blether:
Saturday 23 January, 10am - 12 noon | Tuesday 9 February, 6pm - 8pm
Wednesday 10 February, 10am - 12 noon | Saturday 13 February, 10am - 12 noon
If you can’t make it into the Music Hall in person, you can email your stories to email@example.com, call us for a chat on 01224 337683, or pop by the Music Hall to pick up a post card and post us your story.
The deadline is Tuesday 1 March 2016.
As well as collecting stories of the past, we’re asking for people to share their hopes, dreams and wishes for the Music Hall and the work it will support, promote, showcase and perform in the building in the future.
Please join us in making your story part of history and your wish part of the future.
