Jason is a musician, composer, sound artist and workshop facilitator. He is predominately known for his work as a vocal sculptor and beatboxer. Jason’s musical beginnings started with drums, percussion, turntables, computers, electronic instruments and samplers. Today, his sound and music output is generated through his ongoing exploration of the human voice in collaboration with music technology and its application to all art forms. Jason works alone and in collaboration.
He works with a wide range of artists, bands, organisations and festivals and some of these have included the BBC, Tate, National Trust, SONOS, BFI, V&A Museum, Southbank Centre, Jaipur Literature Festival, Glastonbury Festival, National Portrait Gallery, Nitin Sawhney, Rokia Traore, Sebastian Rochford and Shabaka Hutchings. Some of his work has also appeared on Springwatch, Country File and Autumn Watch. Jason’s passion lies in multi-disciplinary and cross art form collaborations and his vocal creations find their way moving through music, sound art, live performance, television, dance, poetry, theatre, film, museums, science, textiles, ceramics, education and research.
