Maya Chowdhry is a Transmedia writer, poet and inTer-aCtive artist. Her writing is infused and influenced through her work for radio, film and theatre. Maya's current writing practice uses interactive theatre-making and digital storytelling to create immersive and democratic experiences for audiences. She was writer with B Arts on A Place at the Table (2015) a site-specific performance exploring food and democracy, and The Salmagundi (2014) an interactive story experience for 9-13 year olds.
She collaborated with Sarah Hymas on Tales from the Towpath, an immersive story for Manchester Literature Festival, inspired by Manchester’s waterways and their ecological fate, which was shortlisted for the international 2014 New Media Writing Prize. Fossil, her forthcoming poetry chap book, will be published by Peepal Tree Press in 2016. She has won many accolades for her work including The Cardiff International Poetry Competition. Maya was born in Edinburgh and brought up on the Fife coast.
