As part of the Music Hall’s multimillion pound transformation, APA and Luminate – Scotland’s creative ageing festival - are celebrating the venue’s life and what it means to the people of Aberdeen.
So dig out some Music Hall memories and bring yourself along to His Majesty’s Theatre (HMT) for a social coffee morning and to share your stories.
The Luminate Intergenerational Tea and Coffee Morning will bring together different generations of Aberdeen to explore and have a natter about their experiences of the North-east’s iconic concert hall. The stories collected will inspire future commissions by APA’s associate artists, including plays, films and literature.
This event will take place in the Corporate Suite at HMT from 10am – 12pm on Thursday, October 13, with all ages welcome.
A second community event, Have Your Say day, has been organised for young people aged 11 – 18 and will take place in The Lemon Tree on Thursday, October 13 from 1pm – 4pm. We want you to come and tell us what you think about APA – what could we be doing better? What do you want to see in the Music Hall when it re-opens? We want to hear your thoughts, so come along to this informal ideas session and make your voice heard. Refreshments will be available during the session.
APA creative learning manager Lisa Mathieson said: “At APA, what our customers think is so important, which is why we want to hear your memories, opinions and suggestions for the future. These will be two great social events and the results of both will influence our associate artists’ future work, and will help APA continue to improve. We look forward to welcoming faces new and old into our venues on Thursday, October 13 for a blether and to share stories.”
