Extended ‘Rent In Concert’ tour comes to HMT

For one night only, celebrating one of the longest-running shows in Broadway history, Rent In Concert will illuminate Aberdeen’s  His Majesty’s Theatre.

The hugely popular musical is approaching the third and final leg to the current UK tourand arrives at Aberdeen’s HMT on Saturday, 15 February 2014.

First Lady of the West End Kerry Ellis will also be making an appearance following lead roles in a huge number of shows including My Fair Lady, We Will Rock You,  Les Misérables, Wicked and Oliver!

Commenting on the show Kerry Ellis, who will be returning to the role of Mimi said: “I am thrilled to be returning to this production for its final dates. I had so much fun the first time round with this amazing cast and it’s great to see that there is such demand for our show!”

Set in the East Village of New York City, theTony Award winning Broadway musical has become a pop cultural phenomenon with songs that rock and a story that resonates with audiences of all ages. Based loosely on Puccini's La Boheme, the show follows a year in the life of a group of friends struggling to make it in the big city under the shadow of HIV/AIDS.

The show last toured the UK in April this year, performing 10 dates to rave reviews. The show will tour again in November starring Natasha Hamilton and Rory Taylor, before its final run in January and February 2014 with Kerry Ellis.

Rent includes songs Seasons of Love, Out Tonight, Without You, Will I and Finale B. Previous cast members include Mel B, Denise Van Outen, Jesse Wallace, Idina Menzel and Adam Pascal. Rent last toured the UK in 2001 and was last in the West-End in 2007.
