Two shows due to be performed in Aberdeen have been cancelled – the musical Fame, due to be staged at His Majesty’s Theatre in September and next week’s production of Pieces of Eight at The Lemon Tree.
The autumn tour of Fame was called off this week by Bill Kenwright Ltd and their spokesperson Steve Potts said:
“It is with considerable regret that it has become necessary to curtail the current tour of Fame the Musical. Fans of the show have been thrilled by this new production, which has enjoyed a five-month run, but in a difficult economic climate and with World Cup fever it simply hasn’t attracted a wide enough audience.
“Our heartfelt thanks go out to the cast, crew and creative team, the Fame audiences, and the theatres and theatre managers who have been incredibly supportive.”Literal Lines Productions have cancelled the Saturday, July 12 performance of Pieces of Eight written by Pamela Shand and Elizabeth Reinach.
Aberdeen Box Office will refund customers who have bought tickets for either production and can be contacted by phone at 01224 641122 or in person at the Music Hall and His Majesty’s Theatre.
