Comedian Patrick Monahan is all set to make a splash before he appears in Aberdeen’s Lemon Tree for a May 20 gig.
For on Saturday, January 18, he will take part in the new television series of Splash! with Olympic Bronze medal and British and European Championship winner Tom Daley and hosted by Gabby Logan and Vernon Kay.
In the programme celebrities perform live each week in the electric atmosphere of a packed Olympic size pool – in front of a panel of expert judges as the public vote for their favourites. Back on the judging panel are Team GB’s Diving coach Andy Banks, comedienne, writer and actress Jo Brand and former Olympic diving medallist Leon Taylor.
At the end of each show, the contestant at the top of the leader board will go through to the semi-final while the next two contestants face a Splash!-off. The judges will then decide which diver was the most successful and he/she goes through to the semi-final.
Patrick said: “As a comedian I'm always up for any challenge and there's no greater challenge than jumping off a diving board, metres in the air, wearing only a smile and some speedos!
“Splash is a great Saturday night family entertainment show and I'm so chuffed to be part of it, it’s the perfect start to the year!’
Following the series of Splash!, Patrick sets off on his spring tour across the UK with his new, family stand-up show Cake Charmer, which will take him to the Lemon Tree on Tuesday May 20.
