Santa isn’t the only one making special deliveries for Christmas – as His Majesty’s Theatre in Aberdeen is giving away 300 tickets to their spectacular panto Cinderella to local community groups and charities.
Aberdeen Performing Arts (APA), the company which runs the theatre, and the producers of the show, Qdos Entertainment, are inviting groups to apply for the tickets through an application form on APA’s website by Monday, November 11.
The successful groups will be allocated tickets to panto performances on Sunday, December 1 or Tuesday, December 3.
And their youngsters will enjoy a trip to HMT to see the most magical pantomime of all, Cinderella, starring Elaine C Smith as the Fairy Godmother, Barbara Rafferty as Demonica (the wicked step-mother), Gillian Parkhouse as Cinderella, Alan McHugh as Ugly Sister Nessie and Jordan Young as Buttons.
The show is being staged by the same team behind the theatre’s last six recording-breaking pantomimes, with lavish sets, fabulous costumes, an abundance of comedy and an amazing flying horse to transport Cinderella and her coach to the ball!
"We are delighted to be able to offer tickets for Cinderella to community groups who might not otherwise get to see the panto,” said APA chief executive Jane Spiers.
“The HMT panto is a great Christmas tradition for a lot of people, and for many children it is their first experience of live theatre - we would like to share that magical excitement with as many as we can.”
Application forms can be downloaded here, or are available by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. They must be in before Monday, November 11, marked FREE PANTO TICKETS and the successful groups will be told by Monday, November 18.
Unfortunately, due to the anticipated high level of applications, unsuccessful applicants will not be notified.
For those wishing to buy tickets to Cinderella, they are available online at www.aberdeenperformingarts.com, by phoning 01224 641122 or by visiting Aberdeen Box Office at the Music Hall or His Majesty’s Theatre.
