Award-winning comedian and actor Omid Djalili is to take his new show, Schmuck for a Night, to His Majesty’s Theatre next year.
The Iranian-British comedian, actor, television producer and writer will play the venue on Thursday, February 23 next year, as part of the Music Hall’s Stepping Out programme. A firm favourite with his intelligent, sometimes provocative and always entertaining performances, Omid’s stand-up awards include the Time Out Award and EMMA Award for Best Stand Up and a South Bank Award nomination.
His credits range from stand-up shows to Hollywood films, to live performances on the West End stage.
He has appeared in hit films The Mummy, Gladiator, Mean Machine, The World Is Not Enough, Alien Autopsy, Spy Game, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Grow Your Own, Notting Hill, Mr Nice, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End and Sex and the City 2.
On the stage, Omid played Fagin in the West End production of Oliver! at the Theatre Royal in Drury Lane, taking over from Rowan Atkinson.
In television, he recently starred in BBC1 show Dickensian and Lucky Man on Sky 1. He has also appeared on Top Gear as a celebrity driver, has guest-hosted the BBC political quiz show Have I Got News for You, starred in his own BBC1 The Omid Djalili Show and even took part in television show Splash, as well as hosting on The Great Sport Relief Bake Off.
