Panto magic means more get to see Beauty and the Beast at HMT

The roaring success of Beauty and the Beast has meant a monstrous demand for tickets – but with a sprinkling of Christmas magic even more panto fans can get to see the spectacular show at His Majesty’s Theatre in Aberdeen.

To meet the rising need for more tickets for the show, Aberdeen Performing Arts (APA) has opened up the theatre’s balcony section – adding hundreds of additional seats for the almost sold-out shows between Saturday and Tuesday, December 20 to 30.

And there are still great seats available for the January performances of the mammoth smash-hit production.

“There has been very limited availability for tickets to the panto between now and the end of the year, yet we know a lot of people still want to make Beauty and the Beast part of their Christmas celebrations,” said APA press manager Joyce Summers.

“So opening the balcony at the top of the theatre will give more people the chance to see this great festive show before the year’s end.”

Tickets to see Beauty and the Beast are available online at www.aberdeenperformingarts.com, by phone at 01224 641122 and at Aberdeen Box Office at the Music Hall and His Majesty’s Theatre.

The show is being staged by the same team behind the theatre’s last seven Box Office-busting pantomimes, with lavish sets, fabulous costumes, and an abundance of comedy and has already received rave reviews from both critics and public alike.

The laughter-filled show stars Aberdeen’s own panto doyen Elaine C Smith as Mrs Potty, the North-east’s favourite Dame Alan McHugh as Kitty Brewster, Jordan Young as Boaby Brewster, Anne Smith as Deadly Nightshade, Maggie Lynne as Belle, Luke Newton as Prince Sebastian and Paul Luebke as Harris McTweed.
