The hugely-popular Aberdeen Students’ Show is on the hunt for enthusiastic student thespians to tread the boards at this year’s show at His Majesty’s Theatre.
And they are casting their net wide in the city’s vast student community to entice budding Brad Pitts and aspiring Angelina Jolies to audition for their 92nd annual production, which takes to the HMT stage from Wednesday to Saturday, April 17 to 20.
This year the show is a local take on the quirky musical Little Shop of Horrors which adds a Doric touch to the man-eating plant, with the clever name of Spital Shop of Horrors.
Auditions for the show are being held on Sunday, March 10, from 10am, at the MacRobert building within the Aberdeen University Campus. The auditions will include singing, dancing and acting – as well as introductions to the production and administration teams and other hopeful cast members.
Audition organizers are urging potential cast members to wear comfy clothing, bring plenty of water and prepare a song. And to bring you’re their X Factor with them!
The admin team has been working hard on this year’s production since the curtain fell on last year’s hugely successful Mary Torphins which raised an amazing £58,000 for local charities and gave local folk a bunch of laughs.
A show spokesperson said: “If you think you can give up the time to prepare the show, come along to the auditions.
“It's a fantastic experience and it’s for such a good cause. And, you never know, it could catapult you career from HMT to Hollywood!”
