The nation’s favourite publican is embarking on a new show, with an Aberdeen date at His Majesty’s Theatre for 2017.
Guv’nor of the comedy scene Al Murray will return to the Granite City on Monday, March 27 next year with his brand new tour, Let’s Go Backwards Together, at HMT as part of the Music Hall’s Stepping Out programme.
Al is one of the most recognisable and successful comics in the country with his alter ego The Pub Landlord. Out of character, the comedian has appeared on and hosted numerous television and radio programmes, including Al Murray's German Adventure (BBC Four), Al Murray's New Year Resolutions, QI (BBC1) and Have I Got News for You.
Al's huge stand-up tours have made him one of the most popular live comedy acts in the country, and his upcoming tour will give fans just a taster of The Pub Landlord’s views on the world today...
We live in troubling times. Europe. The NHS. Whatever the hell is going on in the Middle East. The gathering storm of fortnightly bin collections… who knows where it will all end?
Watch the one man who will answer the call of destiny even though it’s an unlisted number. Watch the man who will call time on tyranny even though he isn’t quite sure what it means. Watch the one man who isn’t afraid to say no to women ordering anything other than a glass of white wine, or any fruit-based drink.
A spokeswoman for Aberdeen Performing Arts said: “We’re delighted Al Murray is returning to Aberdeen with his usual mix of hilarious material and tomfoolery. He’s one of the best when it comes to involving the audience, so fans are in for a treat next March when he performs for one night only at HMT.”
Tickets are on sale to APA Friends from today (Wednesday) and are on general sale from Friday. Tickets are available online at www.aberdeenperformingarts.com, by phone at 01224 641122 and at our box offices at His Majesty’s Theatre and The Lemon Tree.
