Spectacular pantomime Cinderella is set to fill His Majesty’s Theatre with festive cheer this Christmas, and in the spirit of the season, the city theatre is giving away 300 tickets to local community groups and charities to join in the fun.
Aberdeen Performing Arts, who run the theatre, and the producers of the show, Qdos Entertainment, are inviting groups to apply for tickets to the Christmas pantomime.
Charities and community groups are invited to apply using the application form on the Aberdeen Performing Arts website for tickets to panto performances on Tuesday, December 3 at 7pm and Thursday, December 5 at 7pm. The deadline for applications is Monday, November 18 at 5pm.
Those who are successful with their applications shall go to the ball as Cinderella transforms from rags to riches, outwits her Wicked Stepsisters and with the help of her hilarious friend Buttons and her Fairy Godmother, wins the heart of the dashing Prince Charming.
The glittering production stars Louie Spence as Dandini, HMT favourite Alan McHugh, Call the Midwife star Laura Main, and River City funny man Paul-James Corrigan.
Two Doors Down’s Joy McAvoy, and River City star Sally Howitt as the Wicked Stepsisters, Emmerdale’s Paul Luebke as Prince Charming and Rachel Flynn as Cinderella complete the all-star cast ensemble.
Cinderella will feature all of the ingredients of the perfect pantomime; a fabulous cast and orchestra, laugh-out-loud comedy, stunning scenery and special effects, beautiful costumes and plenty of boos and hisses for all the family to enjoy.
The show is being staged by the same team that has produced the HMT panto for the last 15 years, with the usual abundance of comedy, lavish sets, fabulous costumes, and of course a few surprises in store.
Aberdeen Performing Arts Chief Executive Jane Spiers said: “The HMT panto is a magical festive tradition, and for many it is their first experience of live theatre. We would like to share that excitement with as many people as we can, and we are therefore delighted to continue with our annual tradition of offering tickets for the show to community groups who might not otherwise get to visit the theatre at Christmas.”
Application forms can be downloaded here from midday on Friday, November 8. Completed forms can be emailed to email@example.com posted to Music Hall, Union Street, AB10 1QS, or dropped off at the Music Hall box office.
Applications should be marked FREE PANTO TICKETS and the successful groups will be told by Friday, November 22.
