Call-Out for Submissions – Click. Tick. Boom.

Calling emerging creatives aged 16‐21 in/around Aberdeen.

We’re looking for emerging performers, musicians, movers and makers aged 16‐21 to participate in an intensive cross‐artform film‐making process facilitated by Ten Feet Tall

Click. Tick. Boom. is a magical journey across the streets of Aberdeen. This is Aberdeen city centre, but not as you know it. The everyday becomes the extraordinary, as the glitz and glamour of Tinseltown graces the Granite city. For two weekends the city centre will be your film set, as participants are challenged to create unpredictable and spontaneous depictions of famous movie genres. Expect the unexpected. Anything could happen…

Working over 2 weekends, the Click. Tick. Boom. company will create two short films to be screened as part of Aberdeen Performing Arts’ Light The Blue Festival 2022. This is a unique learning opportunity for young creatives to collaborate with professional artists and peers, developing new skills in film‐making and storytelling. Each session will allow participants to develop their collaborative and improvisational skills, whilst still enabling them to build on already established artistic expertise.

This development opportunity is for emerging artists interested in making live performance and collaborating with peers across varied artforms. We’re looking to form a company of up to 6 participants from all artistic backgrounds. You could be a dancer, musician, actor, filmmaker, visual artist or anything else!

Successful applicants will need to commit to the following dates:

Saturday 4th June, 10:00 – 17:00
Sunday 5th June, 10:00 – 17:00
Saturday 11th June, 10:00 – 17:00
Sunday 12th June, 10:00 – 17:00

All sessions will take place at the Music Hall, Aberdeen.

The films will be screened as part of Light The Blue’s opening event on Thursday 16th June which participants will be welcome to attend. Travel expenses may be available for selected participants.
