A Play, A Pie and A Pint – My Doric Diary by Aye Tunes!

It’s December 31st in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, and Daisy has disappeared down memory lane again. Obsessed with what could have been, Daisy is suddenly given the opportunity of a lifetime – to go back. A Doric jukebox musical from Katie Barnett and James Siggens of AyeTunes, My Doric Diary is a heartwarming story about what it means to love and let go.

AYE TUNES! are: 
KATIE BARNETT is an actress and singer from Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire. She is delighted to come back at PPP after appearing in A New Life, Edge of the World, Outside In, Butterfly Kiss, A Bit of a Dick Whittington and Supply. Other credits include: Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour (West End), My Left Right Foot, SHIFT and Rapunzel (NTS), Hi, My Name is Ben (Dundee Rep), Hay Fever (Citizens Theatre/Royal Lyceum Theatre).  During lockdown, Katie created AyeTunes – an acoustic pop Doric duo – alongside her other half James. They are excited to be bringing their creation to life in My Doric Diary.

JAMES SIGGENS is an actor-musician originally from County Durham.  Credits include: Twelfth Night, The Winters Tale (Bard in the Botanics) Wee Hansel and Gretel (Scottish Ballet) Cinderfella, Mammy Goose (Tron Theatre) Jason and the Argonauts (Visible Fictions/National Theatre of Scotland), Jack and the Beanstalk, Beauty and the Beast (Bard in the Botanics/The Byre Theatre) Assistant Director for Brigadoon (Royal Conservatoire of Scotland), Much Ado About Nothing (Queens Theatre, Hornchurch)  This is James’ first time at PPP and he is over the moon to have written this show with his partner Katie!

DOUGLAS IRVINE is the Artistic Director of Visible Fictions. Under his leadership, this award-winning company’s  multi-disciplinary work has been regularly performed in Scotland and across the world in theatres, schools, outdoor sites, community settings, libraries, on television, radio, the internet, and at international film festivals. Co-productions and collaborations have been at the heart of the company’s work, and this has included: The Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts, BBC Scotland, Scottish Opera, The Traverse, Aberdeen Performing Arts, Oregon Children’s Theatre, CTC in Minneapolis and The Royal Scottish National Orchestra. He has also worked as an actor, tutor, mentor and director with other major organisations in Scotland, inc. Play a Pie and a Pint at the Oran Mor. He currently serves on the board of The Independent Theatre Council.
