Overview

Burn

National Theatre of Scotland, The Joyce Theater and Edinburgh International Festival present: Burn, created by Alan Cumming and Steven Hoggett.

“And still my motto is: I dare”

A co-production between the National Theatre of Scotland, New York City’s The Joyce Theater and Edinburgh International Festival, ‘Burn’ is a new creation from the legendary Scottish actor and author Alan Cumming, and the Olivier award-winning and internationally renowned choreographer Steven Hoggett (Black Watch, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child).

This brand-new piece of dance theatre challenges the ‘biscuit tin’ image of Scotland’s National Bard and goes beyond the poetry to focus on the man himself – his poverty, his personal tragedy, his struggles with mental health and his spectacular success.

There will be a special post-show Q&A with Alan Cumming following the performance on Thursday 25 August.  This is open to all Thursday ticket holders.
