Stage 4 are delighted to be returning to The Lemon Tree for the second time. Formed in 2016, Stage 4 is the sister company of the hugely successful Ragamuffins children's company and Leading Lights youth theatre group. It's aim is to provide a platform for energetic performers of 18 and over the opportunity to bring "exciting and innovative productions to Aberdeen audiences".
Following two critically acclaimed performances of the 70's musical Boogie Nights in 2017 and pop/rock musical Spring Awakening last year, this year's offering is something that has, to our knowledge, never before been performed in Aberdeen. Pippin, which was written in 1972 by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell) and with original choreography by Bob Fosse (Chicago, Cabaret), tells the story of a young knight in training who is searching for "a most extraordinary life". Worried that his existence has become dull and boring, the eager young knight sets off on a quest, seeking out adventure and excitement. Led by The Leading Player, we are taken on Pippin's journey and the many challenges he faces along the way.
Superbly directed by Yvonne Wheeler with innovative choreography by Victoria Cowan and musical direction by Rhonda Scott, this is the perfect vehicle for Stage 4, with a vibrant, rich score including numbers such as Corner of the Sky and Magic to Do. We hope you can "join us" along the way!
