The opening night of #LTB22 continues with the first of our multi-bill events, celebrating the creativity of young people through theatre, dance and film. Several top youth groups share the bill for an exciting line-up of performances to build up towards the exciting finale of day one at Light The Blue! 

Fuse #1 line-up includes:

  • APA’s Senior Youth Theatre with Bubblegum, a new piece devised by the company
  • APA’s Intermediate Youth Theatre with Thanks For Nothing by The PappyShow with Lewis Hetherington
  • City Moves Dance’s Bring It Boys company with Bring your brollies
  • City Moves Dance’s Pulse company with Feel the rush
  • Ten Feet Tall Theatre Company with a screening of Click. Tick. Boom.

APA Senior Youth Theatre

Bubblegum is a new piece devised by APA’s Senior Youth Theatre which allows the audience to look at the world through the eyes of Bubblegum, the friendly creature from out of space.

When Bubblegum comes to earth, time stands still. Will the Earthlings get time moving again or will they be stuck in limbo forever?

APA Intermediate Youth Theatre

Aberdeen Performing Arts Youth Theatre presents Thanks For Nothing by The PappyShow with Lewes Hetherington as part of Positive Stories for Negative Times: Season 2 by Wonder Fools in association with Traverse Theatre.

The play is set here, in this room, right now.

The characters are us.

The stories are all ours.

And the audience that will help us make this what it is, is you!

‘Thanks for Nothing’ is a fun piece of devised theatre, focussing on finding fun and being thankful, even when the world around you is driving you mad! Performed by Aberdeen Performing Arts’ Intermediate Youth Theatre.

City Moves Dance Pulse

Feel the rush is an energetic and feel good piece, empowering young woman to take on the world. Pulse is a creative performance group for ages 11-16. The group perform around Aberdeen in a variety of styles including: hip hop, musical theatre and contemporary dance. If you are interested in joining Pulse please email: citymoves@citymoves.org.uk

City Moves Dance Bring It Boys

Bring your brollies is a charming piece demonstrating a fusion between classical and hiphop movement. Created over an intensive 2 weekend period, Ten Feet Tall and the Click. Tick. Boom. Company present the screening of two original short films. Be the first to see what the young participants have created in response to famous movies genres, using Aberdeen as their backdrop. The everyday beomes the extraordinary as the glitz and glamour of Tinseltown graces the Granite City.
