Norse Myths feat. Arild Andersen, Tommy Smith, Paolo Vinaccia The debut performance of a new suite of music celebrating a compelling mix of Nordic jazz, Scottish folk elements and the pre-eminent talents of bassist Arild Andersen; drummer percussionist Paolo Vinaccia and Tommy Smith. Inspired by the sagas of Thor, Odin and Valhalla, the acclaimed orchestra will deliver a set of compelling and dramatic jazz stories. “A contemporary big-band triumph in its inspired arrangements, sensitive execution and transfixing solo improvisations … agile on the uptempo music and sensuous on a meditation, tone-poem atmospherics so widely associated with the ECM label “ (The Guardian on Arild Andersen with SNJO)
